The fourth edition of the joint pedagogical program takes the form of two two-week long Exchange Schools – a Summer School 2026 in Fribourg, Switzerland and a Winter School 2027 in Seoul, South Korea. It consists of lectures, workshops, studios and prototyping experiences. The essential part of the Swiss School is prototyping in the PopUp atelier at the smart living lab, while the South Korea School will be a design studio focusing on adapting the learnings of the Swiss school to the Korean context. Both schools include a field trip of visiting examples architectures that are related to the overall theme. At the end of each school a final event allow students to present their work to invited guests for feedback.
In total 30 students (5 for each partner institution) will be divided into 5 groups of 6 with each person coming from a different university – 3 South Korean students and 3 Swiss students. The groups will therefore be mixed, interdisciplinary and inter-cultural.
